Cruz Contreras, leader and frontman of The Black Lillies, founded the East Tennessee based Americana roots group in 2009 with the release of Whiskey Angel.
Steeped in the traditional country and mountain sounds of southern Appalachia, Cruz and the band have for well over a decade now forged new musical ground and evolved into a juggernaut of cosmic Appalachian and roots Americana rock n roll.
Featured on diverse stages from Bonaroo to Jazzfest, Merlefest and the Grand Ol Opry, where they’ve performed 40 times, (the most for an independent act), Cruz Contreras and The Black Lillies pull from a rich catalogue of 5 studio albums while continuing to create new music and deliver high energy live shows across the country.
You won’t find a more independent artist. If you like singer songwriters and jam bands and everything in between, The Black Lillies will certainly tickle your fancy.
Cruz Contreras and The Black Lillies will be performing in Maryville for the first time since we can’t remember when. So don’t miss this!
The second act of the evening will be Sarrenna Johnson, (Guy Marshall) another East Tennessean who just released her debut single will be rockin the house with her full band.
Kicking off the show will be Josh Oliver, (Watchouse/The Everybodyfields). His choice instrumental sensibilities and haunting vocals will be sure to stir your soul.
