Early on in his burgeoning and already-thrilling young career, Colin Stough decided he knew exactly who he was as an artist. Sure, Nashville tries its best to shape musicians into something marketable, but the small-town Mississippi bred Stough was supremely confident in his own abilities. He knew what he had to offer. And most importantly, he knew he was going to let the brand of music he was making – soulful, bluesy, well-written songs anchored by classic Country songwriting chops – do the talking for him.
“I write what I want to write about, plain and simple, whether it’s about my life or my thoughts or what I’m feeling that day,” he says of his unobstructed creative mindset. “I’m not really the type of artist who is a people pleaser. I’m not telling stories of things that have never happened in my life. People seem to like my music because it’s real. Pure and honest.”
The Shed bar & restaurant opens @ 11 AM, Ticket Booth @ 5 PM and support artist tentatively @ 7:30 PM. Get here early and enjoy a cold beverage and some delicious BBQ before the show.
